So modern vs vintage is one difference. The best Fender neck that I've found for me is a modern C, 9.5" radius, with medium jumbo frets on my MIM Blacktop Strat. It's the same neck that they put on the Lonestar's. I've never found a neck on a MIA Fender, that felt the same. I do also play a Classic 50 Strat with vintage frets and a 7.25" radius. The new neck starts with a modern "C" shape at the neck and morphs into a modern "D" shape as you get towards the heel. The Fender modern C is used on nearly all Squier models, with the only thing to know being the nut width is slightly narrower at 1.650-inch instead of American Standard 1.685-inch.
